Family support

Has your child or sibling experienced cancer? We're here for you, too.

Connect with other parents and siblings who, like you, are navigating the challenges of supporting a loved one with cancer.

We understand that cancer doesn't just affect the young person diagnosed, but the entire family.

Our support extends to parents and siblings of young people who have experienced cancer.

Through dedicated in-person and digital events, we'll unite you with others in a similar situation, who understand what you're going through.

Are you a parent?

Supporting your child through cancer is one of the hardest things a parent can face - emotionally, mentally, financially, and logistically.

Every scan, every result, every appointment demands strength you didn’t know you had, while balancing family life, work, and financial pressures can feel impossible.

It’s a journey that often feels isolating, no matter how hard others try to understand.

But you’re not alone. Whether your child was recently diagnosed or you’ve been on this journey for some time, we’re here to support you every step of the way.

Are you a sibling?

As a sibling, navigating the whirlwind of emotions you’re experiencing can feel overwhelming. You might even be keeping these thoughts to yourself, not wanting to add to the struggles your family is already facing.

You might feel guilt for being healthy, for moments of happiness, or for not always knowing the right thing to say. At the same time, you may feel frustration at how unfair life has become, sadness as you watch someone you love face such a difficult journey, and fear for what lies ahead.

It’s ok to feel all these things, but it's important to talk and feel heard, and know you're not alone. With Teens Unite you can be yourself, and meet others your age in a similar situation.

How we'll support you and your family to overcome

the challenges of cancer.

From activities and memorable days out that you can enjoy together, to digital sessions that provide you with a safe space to talk (if you want to) and listen to the experiences of others. We’re by your side every step of the way.

Our bi-monthly 'The Parent Space' is a supportive, informal, digital session where you can share, listen and relate.

Our 'Parents: Let's Talk Cancer' event is a chance for you to meet other parents in-person, and hear the experiences of others.

We host special events for you and your child to enjoy, together too.

For siblings, we recognise the impact that a cancer diagnosis can have on them too. That’s why we host digital and in-person events for siblings, uniting them with others in a similar situation.

These events and activities are a chance for siblings of young people living with and beyond cancer to try something new, express themselves and to meet others who ‘just get it’.

Our family events are an opportunity for you to spend time special time together as a family unit, away from the stresses and strains of daily life.

You'll get to meet other families in a similar situation, whilst taking part in an activity or day out that you can all enjoy.

Is your child registered with Teens Unite?
Teens Unite has helped me to feel more connected to other families who understand. Meeting other parents and being honest about how ours lives are difficult is so valuable. It's not something anyone else really understands unless they've lived it.
