Supporting more teenagers and young adults throughout their struggles with cancer.
In the last 12 months, we have experienced a 45% increase in registrations for our support.
What was once a vision, is now a necessity.
Providing young people with the support they need, and the opportunities they deserve, following a cancer diagnosis.
The House of Teens Unite will become home to our activities and residential stays, which address the specific needs of teenagers and young adults impacted by cancer.
But we need to raise £3.5million to make it happen.
The first of its kind in England
The House of Teens Unite will be the first retreat in England dedicated to 13-24-year-olds who have experienced cancer - ensuring they continue to thrive at such a prominent time in their lives.
It means we'll be able to make a difference to 3,000 teenagers and young adults each year.
The House of Teens Unite will connect young people from across the UK, who are all facing the specific challenges cancer brings at this age.
Together, they'll take part in our activities and residential stays to learn new skills, find friendship, rebuild their confidence and self-esteem, and live positively with, and beyond cancer.
Why it's needed
Why it's needed
1
Improve accessibility and inclusivity
Accessibility and inclusivity are two main barriers for young people participating in our activities.
The House of Teens Unite will be a dedicated base, purposefully designed to ensure it is fully accessible to all.
The short-term accommodation on site will enable teenagers and young adults from across the UK, to benefit from our support irrespective of their location, widening our reach.
2
Meet increasing demand
In the last 12 months we have provided 1,600 opportunities to attend our activities and stays, all of which were oversubscribed.
Every two minutes, someone in the UK is diagnosed with cancer, with the fastest-growing incidence among those aged 20-24.
The House of Teens Unite will increase our support output by almost 50%.
3
Empower this generation, and the generations to follow
An additional 2,500 cases of cancer will be diagnosed in teenagers and young adults this year alone.
With the support of Teens Unite, 91% feel an improvement on their mental health, and 90% have a more positive outlook on life.
We’re determined to empower more young people to take the next steps towards rebuilding their lives.
Introducing the site
A 1.5 acre plot in rural Hertfordshire, nestled in the beautiful countryside... Teens Unite recently purchased the site, which requires modernisation and adaptation to meet the needs of the young people we support. The vision is to create dedicated activity spaces, accommodation for short breaks, communal areas, and beautifully landscaped gardens. The site is an idyllic setting for teenagers and young adults to escape the stresses and strains of living with cancer, whilst remaining within easy access of cancer excellence hospitals in London, and main transport links.

How will it be used?
The House of Teens Unite will be a place of opportunity, togetherness, and belonging The retreat will be a permanent base for our charity, where we'll host the majority of our activities, ranging from art and pottery, to cookery and careers sessions. Teenagers and young adults will also benefit from our organised, residential breaks - with up to 20 young people staying for a maximum of three nights, where they'll complete an itinerary of planned activities. Together, they'll be able to learn new skills, enjoy new experiences, meet others in a similar situation, and embrace life to the full.
